Samurai - a Japanese group led by vocalist/flautist Miki Curtis. They went to Europe in late 1967, picking up some European members and thus becoming half-Japanese. In London they recorded a single and their debut album, the double-LP ‘Samurai / Kappa’ a.k.a. ‘Miki Curtis & Samurai / Green Tea’ [German Metronome, 1970], as well as a single only released in Italy. They should not be confused with the UK group of the same name, who released a self-titled LP on Greenwich in 1971.

Fool's Mate is the debut solo album by Peter Hammill of progressive rock band Van der Graaf Generator. The title is both a chess and tarot reference. It was produced by Trident Studios' in-house producer John Anthony. The album was recorded in 1971, in the midst of one of Van der Graaf Generator's most prolific periods.

Volume Two is an LP by The Soft Machine, first released in 1969. A jazz influence is introduced to the humour, dadaism, and psychedelia of The Soft Machine (1968). The album was inspired by Frank Zappa's Absolutely Free and consists of two long compositions with "As Long as He Lies Perfectly Still" and "Dedicated to You" serving as interludes. Acting on a recommendation from Zappa, the band split the main tracks into smaller pieces to increase the band's income from the album.

Second Album was the second album released by British rock group Curved Air. It reached No. 11 in the UK Charts on 9 October 1971, and "Back Street Luv" became a UK No. 4 chart hit on 7 August 1971.

After the success of "Four Moments" in 1975, Australian band SEBASTIAN HARDIE issued "Windchase" the following year. After the band split-up, its leader, guitar player, and singer Mario MILLO recorded "Symphinity" (1977), adopting for his new line-up the name of this last album. Far from being a copy, this magnificent album is slightly different from the quartet's releases, due to the fact that they added to their typically lyrical and romantic music, a certain GENESIS-like influence that is most welcome.

Stuart "Woolly" Wolstenholme left Barclay James Harvest in 1979, and released Maestoso the following year, with a remit very similar to that of his previous outfit. The album is vaguely progressive, but with a strong emphasis on songs, many of them veering sharply towards the 'commercial' end of the spectrum.

Family's sixth album and last with John Wetton, who left to join King Crimson (he had been asked 2 years earlier but declined at that time). Much more rockier than the previous albums. The extra tracks consist of a Rockin' R's and three live tracks recorded around the time of release. A good band with a mix of blusey art rock. A great addition to any 70's rock collection.

The first thing that strikes the listener of Acqua Fragile's second and final album, 1974's Mass Media Stars, is that singer Bernardo Lanzetti sounds remarkably like Peter Gabriel. These six lengthy songs would sound more than a little like Selling England By the Pound-era Genesis even without that vocal similarity, however.
