After their debut "The 1st Chapters" was met with a lot of positive criticism throughout the prog-metal world, Circus Maximus presented their sophomore effort, "Isolate". Circus Maximus seem to have perfected the melodic progressive metal style, with just the right mix of guitars, drums, bass, and keyboards. Add to that the outstanding vocal talent of Mr. Eriksen. The album "Isolate" is a concept album, described by the band as a journey through a man’s mind, where the listener follows the central character’s life story.

Circus Maximus is a superb band with a large variety of influences such as 70's progressive rock, heavy metal and even death metal, all of which are melted to form a unique sound. This creates a mixture of great heavy riffs, consistent melodies with many modulations, and odd time signatures, a very characteristic detail of progressive music.
